$4900 Cupid's Fundraiser!
A Tale of Some Extraordinary Cupid’s Halloween fundraising….
On Saturday the 3rd of November, the Mendooran Royal Hotel hosted their annual Halloween party- only this year, they combined their event with a fundraiser for the Children’s Tumour Foundation. The Mendooran Royal Hotel raised $4900.. and were inspired by one of their regular customers, who happens to be one of our highest fundraisers and NF2 dad, Cameron Elliott.
Mendooran is a small town in the Warrumbungle Shire of Central Western NSW. Charm Mckechnie met Cam through local events and soon learnt about Neurofibromatosis and how NF2 affects Cam’s daughter, Libby. According to Charm, “after hearing about Libby and NF, I just knew I wanted to do something. As a mother, I just can’t image how I would cope if NF happened to us. So I got some friends together and decided to do a fundraiser for Cam’s Cupid’s Undie Run team”. The event had an incredible turn out, with lots of games and entertainment, including a pig on the spit, and an outdoor movie for the kids. Charm contacted local suppliers and had prizes donated to the cause and charged just $15 per head. Everyone loved the event, got to celebrate Halloween and together they raised close to $5000 in just one night!
Fundraising events like these, where we see a community and local businesses come together to support a particular family, are awe-inspiring. We know the Elliott family are beyond grateful for the love and support from the Mendooran Royal Hotel- and so are we at the Children’s Tumour Foundation.
There are so many ways you can fundraise for Cupid’s Undie Run, and every dollar really does make a difference in the lives of those affected by NF. #ConquerNF #ImWithCupid
