Growing up in the Western suburbs, Becchara played any sport she could, but it wasn’t until Volleyball found her in 2013, that her childhood dream of donning the green and gold started to seem possible.
In the 15 years that followed, Becchara went on to represent Australia in Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, at both junior and senior level. With a Junior World Championship Gold Medal and the 2012 Olympic Games under her belt, Becchara chose to walk away from volleyball in Mid-2017. The very next day Becchara was offered a Rookie position on the Adelaide Crows AFLW Team by Coach Bed Goddard.
Becchara has transitioned from Beach Volleyball to AFL Football in the space of 6 months and has not once looked back. She will be lining up with the reigning premiers in the 2018 AFLW season, looking to have an impact on field with her height, athleticism and professionalism.
Off Field? Becchara believes that well-rounded happy humans make elite, professional athletes and speaks candidly about her struggles with poor body image, self-doubt and how important it is to have a sense of self away from sport.
